A Family Tradition Serving Branson Since 1984

For more than four decades, Starvin’ Marvin’s has been welcoming families, locals and visitors with generous hospitality, memorable meals and a commitment to making every guest feel at home. What began as a family dream has grown into one of Branson’s longest-standing independently owned restaurants, built on hard work, quality food and genuine Southern hospitality.

Founded in 1984 by Larry and Jeanette Rogers, Starvin’ Marvin’s started in a small log cabin just west of Silver Dollar City. After relocating from Lafayette, Louisiana to the Ozarks, they brought with them not only a passion for serving people, but also the family values that continue to define the restaurant today.

From the beginning, Starvin’ Marvin’s was truly a family business. Their children—Amy, Kellie and Duane—grew up working in the restaurant, learning firsthand the importance of welcoming guests, serving quality food and creating an experience people would remember long after their vacation ended.

As Branson continued to grow into one of America’s premier family destinations, so did Starvin’ Marvin’s. The restaurant eventually moved to its current location on Highway 76, where it became known for generous portions, friendly service and meals that brought families together around the table.

Louisiana Roots. Ozarks Hospitality.

The Rogers family’s Louisiana heritage has been part of Starvin’ Marvin’s story from the beginning. In the mid-1990s, authentic Cajun recipes and fresh seafood became a defining part of the menu, introducing Branson visitors to bold Louisiana flavors paired with warm Ozarks hospitality. Over the years, Starvin’ Marvin’s earned a reputation for generous portions, friendly service and memorable dining experiences that have kept families returning year after year. Those Louisiana roots continue to inspire many of our most popular dishes while honoring the traditions that have shaped the restaurant for more than four decades.

Continuing the Family Legacy

In 2019, ownership transitioned to Larry and Jeanette’s son, Duane Rogers, ensuring Starvin’ Marvin’s would remain proudly family owned for another generation. Today, Duane and his wife, Amanda, continue building on the restaurant’s legacy while grandson Ethan represents the next generation of the Rogers family. Together, they’ve expanded the restaurant beyond its popular buffets with a chef-created menu featuring fresh seafood, authentic Cajun favorites, handcrafted burgers and Southern comfort classics—all while remaining committed to the same mission that has guided Starvin’ Marvin’s since 1984: serving exceptional food, welcoming every guest like family and creating memories that bring people back to Branson again and again.
